Q & A: I Finally Registered! Now what?....
- Q. What is the Board
doing?
Answer.....
Immediately after the last registration date, your board begins the process of putting the teams together for the upcoming season. When this is completed, the uniforms will be ordered and the coaches notified.
- Q. When do the coaches
get their teams?
Answer.....
Coaches should expect to receive their team rosters at the Coaching Orientation Sessions in mid-August.
- Q. Can my child play on the
same team as a friend?
Answer.....
Due to team balancing and fair play, the only requests honored will be for siblings and coaches’ children.
- Q. When do the players get called?
Answer.....
Teams may begin practice on August 24, 2009. The coaches will call the players and give the players/parents the information they need in regards to practice times. Each coach selects his/her own practice days and times from the Region’s practice schedule. The practice fields are the same as the playing fields, located at the Winnemucca Sports Complex behind Burger King and Les Schwab Tires.
- Q. It’s August 24th and my child hasn’t been called. What do I do?
Answer.....
Please don’t panic if you see teams practicing and your child has not been called. Not all teams practice at the same time. Also, some of the coaches may be out of town. If your child hasn’t been called by September 3rd, please contact Regional Commissioner, Tammy Fernandez at 623-3249 or by emailing Tammy Fernandez. You may also contact the Regional Registrar, Joelle Cooper at 623-6830 or by emailing Joelle Cooper
- Q. What else does my child need?
Answer.....
The registration fee includes: complete uniform (jersey, shorts and socks), and
supplemental accident insurance. In addition, your child will be required to wear shin guards at all practices
and games. You may choose to obtain soccer shoes and a water bottle.
- Q. How often are practices and games?
Answer.....
Practices are held twice per week with the time determined by your child’s coach. Games will be played on Saturdays, with the first game on September 12, 2009.
- Q. Refund?
Answer.....
Players withdrawing prior to Sept 12th will be issued a full refund. NO REFUNDS will be given after the first game. Prorated exceptions will be given if 1) the child is injured and unable to play; or 2) the child moves out of the area. All requests for refunds must be submitted to the Regional Commissioner at tammy_frnndz@yahoo.com.
- Q. How do I register an additional player?
Answer.....
Regular registration opens on April 23, 2009, and ends July 10, 2009. Players can be pre-registered at any time on eAYSO, but payment and Player Registration Forms must be received by the Late Registration on July 10.
- Q. Please remember….
Answer.....
AYSO is a parent-based, all-volunteer organization. We depend on volunteers to help in all areas of our region to run a smooth and successful organization and to give our children a positive and safe experience. Have fun! Go to the games. Learn the rules. Above all, be respectful to your child’s coaches and referees.
